You can complete this application up to 6 months before your departure to secure your job guarantee. Once in London, you can change jobs at any time – simply explore the job opportunities on this site.

Accommodation Booking
On this site, you can browse a range of accommodation options and book based on your preferences, including budget and style (dorm, private, shared, etc.). We recommend confirming your arrival date before booking.

London Meet & Greet
This is an RSVP for a get-together with new Jumpstart arrivals in the UK. In 2025, we will have fewer Meet & Greet days, making attendance optional but beneficial for meeting fellow travelers and answering your questions.

When filling out your online application and bookings, please ensure your email address and name match our records.
STEP 1
JOB APPLICATION
Start by filling out the Jumpstart London Job Application Form.
This should take about 25–30 minutes and you’ll need to upload:
• Your CV
• A written reference
• A profile picture
You don’t need a confirmed start date — just a general idea is fine. Once submitted, our partners will be in touch with your Job Guarantee, which includes:
• Job description
• Training/uniform info
• Arrival & orientation details
STEP 2
ACCOMMODATION
Browse through our accommodation listings and choose what suits your budget and style (shared, private, dorms, etc.). Once you confirm your UK arrival date, you’ll receive an invoice for your holding deposit.
STEP 3
MEET & GREET
Our Meet & Greets are your chance to meet other Jumpstarters, settle in, and get answers to your questions. These happen once a month in low season, and twice a month in high season. We kick off with a walking tour of London, followed by drinks, games, prizes and info at a bar.
We recommend booking one that lines up with your arrival.
STEP 4
DIY VISA GUIDE
If you have selected to do the work visa yourself so we have included a little gift to help you save time and money with a step-by-step visa guide to assist you with your application.

STEP 5
BANK ACCOUNT
TWHC has partnered with exchange experts Wise to help you create a multi-currency account where you will be able to store, receive and send money in Pounds (£GBP).
Once you’ve registered with Wise, you can download the Wise app on your phone, open up a GBP balance and top up with at least £30 GBP to get your UK bank account details.

What type of accommodation do you have listed on your site?
- Dormitory-style rooms in Zone 1 (single rooms, twin shares, triple shares and four bed dorms).
- Studio-style rooms in Zone 1.
- Shared housing in Zones 2-3.
- Boutique hotel accommodation.
*Shared housing and Studio-style rooms are in high demand so can be limited in availability.
How do the dormitory style rooms work?
Our partners have allocated 250 beds in Zone 1 for us, which is the rate between new arrivals and departing travellers. This type of accommodation is centrally located in the heart of London and is an all-inclusive dormitory property. You will be sharing with other Australians and New Zealanders on the Jumpstart, as well as international University Students.
Only one week’s deposit is required to secure your bed pre-departure, and then rent is paid on a weekly basis. Only one week’s notice is required to leave your accommodation.

- All Bills included as well as high-speed Wifi and SkyTV and Contents Insurance.

How does the backpacker shared housing work?
We have exclusive access to many shared houses and flats in London, all within a 25 to 35-minute commute on the tube to central London.
Features of our shared housing accommodation:
- Rent includes all bills and free wifi.
- Rent paid weekly.
- Only two weeks notice to leave.
- No huge upfront costs – the bond is equal to 2 weeks’ rent.
- No long-term leases or lock-in contracts.
- Not liable to cover rent for other rooms if housemates move out.
Please note: Availability in our shared housing is limited. If this type of accommodation is your preference, you will start in one of the other types of accommodation on arrival (so you’ve got a bed guaranteed for your move-in when you touch down), and then once you are here, you will go on a waiting list. When there is a room available, and it is your turn on the waitlist, the property team will contact you to set up a viewing. You can go check out the room, and if you prefer it to your current accommodation, sign a tenant agreement for the house and make the swap to shared housing.
How does the professional shared housing work?
We have exclusive access to shared houses and flats in London, especially for those on a youth mobility visa that are in London for a professional job role.
Features of our professional shared housing accommodation:
- Rent includes all bills and free wifi.
- Rent paid weekly.
- Must sign a 6-12 month lease
- Not liable to cover rent for other rooms if housemates move out.
How does the budget hotel option work?
We partner with a boutique 3-star hotels to provide you with an option for hotel-style accommodation in London. Options include single ensuite rooms, or double ensuite rooms and pay rent on a week-by-week basis. To secure this type of room you must pay your first week of rent pre-departure.
Features of our hotels include:
- Weekly rent.
- Free wifi.
- Kettle in every room with tea/coffee provided.
- Bedding & Towels.
- Cleaner – rooms and communal areas are services regularly.
- No big upfront costs – no bond required here, just the weekly rent.
What type of jobs are on the job board?
We work with a wide range of employers offering job opportunities to suit everyone — from those with little to no experience to seasoned professionals. While roles are subject to availability and a successful application and interview process, there’s something for every background and skill level.

Hospitality Roles: Bar staff, food runners, waitstaff, and host/hostess positions in restaurants.
Education: Teaching and Teaching Assistant roles in schools and learning centres.

TWHC works with our employment partners to offer you a job in London before you arrive. The pre-departure jobs include hospitality (events, festivals, bar work), labouring event crew and construction.
Features of our pre-departure job offers:
- You will get registered with your guaranteed job during your first week in London, meaning you can start earning straight away.
- All our pre-departure jobs are completely flexible. There is no locked-in commitment period, or minimum work hours. You can pick and choose the shifts you’d like to do and cancel shifts within a 72-hour notice period. It’s totally flexible, great for travel and while you’re settling into London Life. You can stay in your job your whole time in London, or use it as a quick cash earning starting point while you settle in – it’s completely up to you.
Once you have arrived, if you wish to change positions simply keep a look out for openings on our job board for additional opportunities and send your application off through our portal.
The pre-departure job is available for the length of your visa, you are more than welcome to try your hand at any job you like, and you are welcome to return to this if needed. Consider it your ultimate safety net.
