The 10 Cases Bistrot a Vin was opened in 2011 by old friends, Will Palmer and Ian Campbell. Fed up by static, predictable and overpriced wine lists, they decided to open a place with a fairly priced, constantly changing, unpretentious and fun wine offering.
The 10 Cases is a buzzing and unpretentious little restaurant, built around a short list of 10 white and 10 red wines, plus sparkling, rosé and sweet wines, of which everything is available by-the-glass, carafe or bottle and purchased always in 10-case orders. In 13 years of trading the same wine has not been listed twice. The food offering is similarly frequently changing and seasonal, built around a small selection of starters, mains and desserts, as well as a range of wine-friendly tapas style dishes, cheeses and charcuterie.
In 2013 the team decided to make the logical expansion next door with the Cave à Vin; wine bar, shop and cellar. Offering the same food menu but on a walk-in only basis, the wine list is what sets the Cave apart from the Bistrot. Another 16+ regularly changing fine wines are offered by-the-glass as well as 300+ listings from classic wine producing countries all over the world, offered at retail to take-away or with an additional £12 corkage to enjoy on the premise.
The core ethos of fine wine and food, at great value in a fun, friendly and dynamic space with knowledgeable and enthusiastic staff is what continues to drive the Bistrot and Cave as such exciting places to drink wine in London.
In 2017 they opened Parsons across the road which has since gained a reputation for being one of London’s best seafood restaurants.
The latest project, Baudry Greene is an all day European Bar and Café.
