Adventure resort jobs are like nothing you’ve ever experienced before. Working as an activity guide, or even behind the scenes as support staff, you’ll create memories to last a lifetime. About the role:

  • Prepare and maintain equipment and activity bases to keep everything safe, presentable and ready for guests
  • Carry out daily safety checks, equipment repairs and off-ground inspections
  • Track equipment, manage stores and keep accurate records
  • Work closely with team leaders and instructors to address issues quickly
  • Support other centre teams and get involved in wider projects as needed

  • South West & South: Barton Hall (Devon), Osmington Bay (Dorset), Beam House (North Devon), Marchants Hill (Surrey), Windmill Hill (East Sussex)
  • East & Midlands: Bawdsey Manor (Suffolk), Caythorpe Court (Lincolnshire), Boreatton Park (Shropshire), Liddington (Wiltshire)
  • North & Scotland: Winmarleigh Hall (Lancashire), Newby Wiske Hall (North Yorkshire), Ford Castle (Northumberland), Dalguise (Perthshire, Scotland)

Living and working on site:

When you are offered a position to work in one of our Adventure Resorts, you will be offered heavily subsidised on-site shared accommodation. Rent is just £8.01 per night, around £243.59 per month.

Living and working on site has many benefits. Your daily commute could be as short as 30 seconds to five minutes. Beyond that, there’s a real community spirit and fantastic sense of camaraderie among the staff team. Living onsite gives you the opportunity to socialise with your work colleagues and enjoy the centre’s facilities.

Depending on the time of year, your accommodation may be indoors in a shared house, wooden cabin or chalet, or in a shared large frame tent during the hot summer months. Extras provided free of charge include bedding, TV and a small kitchenette for tea and toast.

For meals, our live-in colleagues can choose from three cost-effective meal packages, with the option to pay for extra meals outside their package.

Weekends and free time:

Make the most of your free time by exploring your local area or heading off to visit popular tourist spots such as Bath, London and Cornwall. Staff can also enjoy surfing, sailing, biking and other activities when they’re not working.

Training and activities:

All Adventure Guides will complete a fully paid 10-day equipment OHS training covering travel, food and rent. You will be trained to deliver a wide range of activities, which may include:

Archery, beach walks, indoor climbing, climbing tower, dragon boat racing, fencing, giant swing, hiking, Jacob’s ladder, kayaking, low ropes course, mountain biking, orienteering, problem solving, quad biking, raft building, rifle shooting, sailing, sensory trailing, street surf, team games, trampolining, trapeze, tunnel trail and zip-lining.

Important requirements for your application:

  • Two written references
  • As we work with children and young people, this role requires a successful DBS check (criminal record check)
