As a Front of House team member at Hand Picked Hotels, you play a key role in delivering exceptional guest experiences in our elegant and welcoming environments. This role goes beyond food and beverage service: it combines customer service, host/hostessing, upselling and sales, and creating memorable moments for our guests. Your warmth, professionalism, and attention to detail reflect our commitment to excellence at every interaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Guest service excellence Provide a warm, attentive welcome and ensure each guest feels special throughout their visit. Offer thoughtful menu suggestions, describe daily specials with enthusiasm, and confidently answer questions.
- Hosting & seating Greet guests on arrival, manage bookings, allocate tables efficiently and create a welcoming first impression.
- Order taking & delivery Accurately take orders, noting dietary requirements or special requests, and serve food and beverages with grace and attention to presentation.
- Upselling & recommendations Suggest suitable wine pairings, promote specials, and encourage guests to explore new menu items to elevate their experience.
- Coordination with kitchen & bar Liaise clearly with chefs and bar staff to ensure timely service and guest satisfaction. Communicate any guest feedback or special requests.
- Cash handling & billing Process payments accurately, whether by card, cash or room charge, and issue receipts as required.
- Maintaining standards Keep dining areas, service stations and equipment clean and tidy at all times, upholding strict hygiene standards.
- Teamwork Work closely with colleagues across all departments to ensure smooth and seamless service during busy periods.
- Menu knowledge Maintain up-to-date knowledge of menus, ingredients, and allergens to confidently assist guests and answer questions.
- Adherence to policies Follow all company policies including dress code, punctuality, and service standards. Attend training sessions to stay current on procedures and guest service best practices.
